PACA Rabanne

An artist edition by Delphine Trouche and Hazel Ann Watling
With Jean Laube, Laurence Lagier, John Deneuve and Alice Griveau

In a 'Cadavre Exquis' one folds a paper into three, to make a head with neck, a body with arms and lastly legs with feet. This game was usually played out on a small scale and passed between three players. each time the paper is passed, the drawer would fold the paper and leave light guide marks for the next person's future drawing.

It is such that PACA Rabanne is played out. However the body is connotated in the object of the painted support. Four straw beach mats ( 'rabanne' in French)  are rolled up and passed from painter to painter. These original collaborative artworks are then printed as a limited edition as beach towels, to be used as desired in everyday life.
This project is principally playful, each artist is invited to use painting as a way to explore abstracted realities and to nurture links between one another.
